Appointments and Cancellations

A counseling session usually lasts 50 minutes to one hour. To avoid being charged for a scheduled appointment, it must be rescheduled or canceled at least 24 hours in advance.

A missed appointment is a lost opportunity for both client and counselor. I strongly believe that appointment times are an important part of counseling. On occasion, I will be unavailable for appointments, every attempt will be made to inform the client of this in advance. If I will be unavailable for an extended time, clients will be provided with the name of a colleague to contact, if necessary.

Email communication and text messaging can be a convenient means of setting appointment times, but I will not use this as a means of providing counseling. Email or texting may not be a secure way of sending and receiving information, and while I make every attempt to keep my emails confidential.

Insurance /Payment

Professional Fees & Payment

Clients are expected to pay the standard fee of $100.00 per 45-minute session. 

Couple counseling fees are $200 per hour session and $250 per 90-minute session.

I negotiate fees on a sliding scale based on the client’s family’s gross income and size. Any client that would like to be considered for a sliding scale fee must make a request when scheduling the first appointment.

Sliding scale fees:

Individual Counseling: $70-$90 per 50 minutes and $100 per hour session

Couples Counseling: $150 per hour and $200 per 90-minute session.

Telephone conversations, site visits, writing and reading of reports, consultation with other professionals, release of information, reading records, longer sessions, travel time, etc. will be charged at the same rate, unless indicated and agreed upon otherwise. Please notify me if any problems arise during therapy regarding your ability to make timely payments.

All deductibles and co-payments are due at the time of treatment. If your insurance company is not listed above, it means that you would be responsible for paying the full fee before the commencement of each counseling session. It is possible that under such conditions your insurance company may reimburse you a percentage of the fee you paid should you file.
